Dr.
Joe Outlaw is an Professor and Extension Economist in the
Department of Agricultural Economics at Texas A&M University. His extension
education and applied research activities are in farm management, agricultural
policy, and risk management, focusing on issues relevant to Texas crop
producers. In addition, he is the Co-Coordinator of Extension's Texas
Risk Management Education Program. He is specifically in charge of coordinating
the Financial and Risk Management (FARM) Assistance program that provides
one-on-one assistance to Texas producers.
Dr. Outlaw is a
member of the Agricultural and Food Policy Center and conducts applied
research on issues relevant to Texas.
He is originally
from Devine, Texas. He is married to Natalie and has three children,
Stephanie, Layne and Dylan. Dr. Outlaw received his B.S. (1987), M.S.
(1988) and Ph.D. (1992) degrees from Texas A&M University, all in agricultural
economics. In 1992 he received the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
Outstanding Graduate Student Award.
