Steven
L. Klose is an Assistant Professor and Extension Economist in the Department
of Agricultural Economics at Texas A&M University.
Dr. Klose is co-coordinator
of the FARM Assistance program, supporting the broad Texas Risk Management
Education Program efforts of Texas Cooperative Extension. The Financial
And Risk Management Assistance program is designed to provide strategic
decision information to unique and diverse Texas agricultural operations.
Building on the department's solid foundation of farm level simulation
modeling, Steven is responsible for the research, design, and development
of the FARM Assistance Model. Dr. Klose is also a member of the Agricultural
and Food Policy Center and works with this group in the areas of applied
policy research and farm level simulation modeling.
He is originally
from Haskell, Texas. He is married to Jennifer and they have two children,
Kayla and Carson. Steven is an Aggie, class of 1992, graduating from
Texas A&M University with a B.S. in agricultural economics. He also
received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in agricultural economics from Texas
A&M in 1995 and 2001.
